The Seven Summits refers to a list and a challenge to climb the seven highest mountains on each on the seven continents.  Debate over continental boundaries had created two lists.  The only difference is whether to use include New Guinea as part of the Austrialian continent.  There is also a question about Mount Blanc in Europe, which is the highest peak if the Caucasus Mountains are included within Europe's borders.  Most purists will actual climb the summits of both lists, so there is no doubt.  It also assumed that Mount Blanc has already been climbed by Seven Summits challengers, so list of seven summits is actually nine.
